I first went to see Jessica for help with a fertility issue: I was 37, wanted to get pregnant, and had ovarian cysts that were preventing ovulation and resisted treatment by Western approaches. Acupuncture Treatment for Drug or Alcohol Withdrawal

A new study published in the Journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing highlights the benefits of Acupuncture as a treatment for drug and alcohol withdrawal.

The new study titled, “Patients’ experience of auricular acupuncture during protracted withdrawal.” shows that patients experienced increased well-being and relaxation through ‘auricular’ (ear) acupuncture.

In addition, the study shows that patients experienced decreased anxiety and reduced levels of drug and alcohol consumption.

This is wonderful news for patients going through alcohol and/or drug withdrawal seeking an alternative or supplement to traditional ‘western’ medicine treatment.
